PWAM February Community Clean-Up Update
The Progress Welfare Association of Malindi (PWAM) held its February community clean-up with remarkable participation from partners, organizations, and volunteers who came together with a shared goal: keeping Malindi clean, healthy, and vibrant.
Today’s clean-up was a powerful demonstration of what community action can achieve when people unite for a common purpose. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated and represented their respective organizations, as well as all our partners and volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to this important cause.
Through the collective effort of everyone involved, we were able to remove a significant amount of waste from our environment. Together, we collected an impressive 193.1 kilograms of waste, broken down as follows:
- General waste: 110.3 kg
- Plastic: 51.7 kg
- Glass: 21.9 kg
- Diapers: 9.2 kg
Each kilogram of waste removed represents a meaningful step toward protecting our environment, safeguarding public health, and preserving the beauty of Malindi for residents and visitors alike. These clean-ups are more than just activities; they are a growing movement that shows the power of community-led environmental stewardship.
The presence and commitment of our volunteers and partners continue to inspire us. Your participation demonstrates that positive change is possible when communities take ownership of their environment.
We sincerely thank everyone who showed up, supported the initiative, and contributed to the success of the clean-up. Your dedication makes a real and lasting difference.
Let us continue building this momentum and working together toward a cleaner, safer, and more beautiful Malindi.
Thank you for showing up. Thank you for caring. Let’s keep going.
